The afternoon started with a great lunch from Sue, which included sloppy joes, chips, dips and desserts. The group moved from lunch to the skeet shooting range. David and Russell MacLennan gave thorough safety instructions and advice. Several of the youth were able to grasp the skeet shooting concepts and performed well. The youth then moved on to several team and thought provoking exercises. Each event was geared towards the importance of what does and what does not make a good team. Each youth learned the value of support, communication, participation and maximum effort as it relates to a good team. Next, everyone helped to build a bonfire under the stars. We roasted marshmallows and starburst, yes I said starburst.
The next morning started with a wonderful, early breakfast at 6:30. The group then piled into the trucks and headed out for the morning hunt, hiking and photography. The morning went great with all the participants having a great time. The groups were able to see how special the outdoors can be when we just take time to enjoy them. The act of walking through the terrain and camaraderie was an enjoyable experience for all.
